Alfonso is a multi award winning travel photographer based in Sydney, Australia. Born and raised in the Philippines of Spanish decent but moved to Australia at 15 years of age.

“This job is a mix of all my past jobs. I used to be a Japanese and Spanish speaking tour-guide, taught English in Tokyo and a Professional Photographer for the last 30 years.

Specialising in People and Places as a travel photographer has given me the experience and versatility to shoot in different genres such as Landscape, Astrophotography, Street Portraits, Nature, Wildlife and Architecture.”

Alfonso will give a talk about his favourite countries Japan and Australia, and his love for the indegenious culture.
Then we will head South to the penal colony of Tasmania where it’s wild and pristine rainforests make it such a unique and bio diverse environment.

Of course we will touch on my city of Sydney and it’s harbour and ocean beaches.

From Australia we will travel to Japan from the north to the south covering the winter wonderland of Hokkaido, spring (blossoms) in Kyushu and Honshu island.

With over tourism in Japan after COVID it’s been my aim to introduce lesser known areas of Japan.

Lastly in autumn we will venture up northern region of ohoku to visit lesser known urban areas of Honshu filled with rustic seascapes and culture filled villages.
