Namibia v.Tomas Diera – IN ENGLISH
Abstract: From the Kunene to the Orange River, I cycled through Namibia’s most remote and rugged corners. Over two months under the desert’s relentless sun, I discovered the country’s unique cultures, breathtaking landscapes, and wildlife.
In Kaokoland, I faced extreme heat and met the traditional Himba people. In the Brandberg Mountains, Namibia’s highest peaks, I came face-to-face with a wild lion. Swakopmund offered a taste of old German architecture, while Walvis Bay dazzled with flamingos.
The south brought endless gravel roads, encounters with tough farmers, and the stark beauty of Deadvlei’s haunting dunes. My journey ended in Oranjemund, the ‘recently’ opened diamond town in Namibia’s Forbidden Zone.
In this talk, I will take you along on some of my many adventures traveling through this beautiful and unique country.
